Blackpool Children's Rights is an independent organisation working with children and young people to make sure that they get the best possible care. The service is run by The Children's Society, and young people have access to a wide range of individual services, and the right people to make sure that they get what they need and deserve.
BCRS can offer the following services to help young people in care:
Independent Visitors - An independent visitor is a supportive adult who will offer you advice and help, and will be a friend. Independent Visitors will take part in fun activities with you (such as taking you for a pizza, or taking you bowling) and will be a regular contact. You can ask your Independent Visitor for help and advice if you're not happy with anything, or just enjoy your time with them if you have negative contact with your birth family, or have very limited contact. Independent Visitors can also come with you to your reviews.
Children's Rights Workers - A Children's Rights Worker can help you to have a say about your life if you're worried or feel you're not being listened to. A Children's Rights Worker will listen to you, and will work with you and with the other people in your life to make sure that you're heard. They can help you to get in touch with your Social Worker, and they can even help you to make a complaint if you need to.
